After my October travels I came home to find my husband renovating our entire house(!).
For a few weeks now, my daughter and I have been displaced and living in other people’s homes while my husband put our new floor in. We are finally back (though still living in the chaos of a construction zone) and I’m starting to find my writing rhythm again.
One thing I love about writing is when I hear a song that sticks in my brain and inspires a scene. I will play the song on repeat and live in anticipation of writing that scene. This week I finally got to write a high-stakes chase scene in my vampire x werewolf romantasy that was inspired by Eye Of The Untold Her by Lindsey Stirling.
This also happened while I was writing Rebel Witch. The song that time was Gloria Regali by Tommee Profitt and it inspired a certain coronation scene. 👀
Speaking of Rebel Witch: we are almost 3 months from publication and guess what? Kirkus gave it a starred review! This is my first starred review from Kirkus. They are notoriously difficult to please and rarely review sequels, so it was very exciting. They described it as “a captivating finale to a highly addictive and entertaining duology.” Read the full review here.
If you haven’t already, you can preorder Rebel Witch from your favourite retailer.

P.S. if you’re in Canada next week, I have an event at the Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines. Tickets are Pay What You Can and you can grab them here.
